Sizing of large databases

The database will occupy most of the required disk space, and when sizing it you need to be sure you get it right. There are a number of aspects to the database sizing that need to be considered such as the system administration requirements of the database, space required for the data dictionary and the journal files, plus any rollback space that is required. Make sure you take these factors into consideration, the next time you work on large databases.
