The daily operations of the data warehouse are equally as complex as but less fraught than the overnight processing. The main purpose of the daytime usage of the machine is to service the users’ queries. Nonetheless, there are other operations that can and do take place during the day such as monitoring application daemons, backup/recovery, adhoc query management, housekeeping scripts and so on. These operations also need to be considered carefully.
