To control the daily operations of the data warehouse requires some sort of scheduling software, and this needs to be thoroughly tested during the system testing. In particular, the scheduling software will need to interface with the warehouse manager, which will need the scheduler to control the overnight processing and the management of the aggregations. Given the possibility for many of the processes in the data warehouse to swamp the system resources if allowed to run at the wrong time, scheduling control of these processes is essential to the success of the data warehouse.
